現任:國立臺灣科技大學建築系 副教授 學歷:日本東京大學建築學專攻 博士 經歷:新加坡新建設計 設計師 Meng-Ting Tsai Associate Professor, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology Education PhD, University of Tokyo, Japan B.E / M.S., National Cheng-Kung University, Taiwan Practice Designer, New Space International Architecture Practice (NSIAP), Singapore Introduction Dr. Tsai is currently active at the research on Timber structure and construction system in terms of environmental situation in Taiwan, including the development of timber-steel composite component, seismic assessment and energy simulation of wooden hybrid structure system. Prior to be the faculty member in Taiwan Tech, he earned his PhD degree in University of Tokyo under Professor Koshihara’s supervision, and worked as an Architecture designer in Singapore. Dr. Tsai’s current ongoing project focus on the parameter study and proposal of wooden hybrid structure system used for the urban regeneration, especially the renewal system of aged building based on wooden components. The seismic assessment of structural system and energy consumption efficiency of the proposed hybrid structure system was compared with RC and CLT structure as well. The simulation results indicate that the proposed hybrid structure system, which comprises RC beams/columns and CLT floors and walls, has an energy-saving efficiency close to that of a CLT structure, and lower than RC structures. Based on the study result, the proposed hybrid structure system can be effectively used for old building renewal for sustainable development in Taiwan. Additionally, part of his research work has been adopted and applied in practice, such as hybrid timber-steel roof structure system in Beiping Elementary School, Hsinchu, and so on. |
